1. How much is the transfer fee to Turkey?

From ¥1,000 to ¥30,000 - ¥880
From ¥30,001 to ¥100,000 - ¥1,480
From ¥100,001 to ¥800,000 - ¥1,680

Note: Transfer fee and bank deposit fee will be deducted from the deposited amount.

2. How much money can I send in each transaction?

HIGH RISK AREA OF TURKEY: 16 cities are affected were ONLY 1200 EURO is allowed to send in the last 30 days (In Japanese yen the calculation will depend on the exchange rates of that day) and also only one time is available for the sender and receiver.

3. Is it possible to send money to Japan via Brastel from Turkey or any other country?

No, Unfortunately it is not possible. We can only send money from Japan to overseas.

4. Where and how can the receiver pick up the money in Turkey?

The receiver can pick up the money at either the Post office or Vakifbank depending on where the sender had chosen at the time of making the remittance request.

The receiver needs to show the reference number and his/her Turkish ID.

※ NOTE: For POST OFFICE,the receiver should say to the staff that the partner`s name is UPT. For VAKIFBANK, the receiver should say the partner`s name is RIA.

5. Can I send money to one of the bank accounts in Turkey?

Yes, however it is available ONLY in Turkish currency and should be a standard account (IBAN NUMBER).

6. How long will it take for the recipient to receive the money?

  • For Agent Collect points - approximately after 15 minutes
  • For Bank Account transfers - Between 1 to 3 days

7. What is your exchange rate and how do you apply?

The exchange rate changes daily. The rate(s) will be applied on the day and time the remittance is processed.

Note that the exchange rate shown at the time the remittance request is placed is only for reference and may differ from the actual exchange rate.

8. In order to send money from Japan to another country which currency do you accept?

ONLY JAPANESE YEN is available to send money from Japan to overseas..

9. How can l send and deposit money using the Yucho Deposit Card (Yucho card) from the Brastel Remit app?

Using the Yucho Deposit Card, go to the nearest Japan Post Bank (or to a Family Mart convenience store that has a Japan Post Bank ATM) and deposit the money at the ATM. You will find instruction on how to use the ATM on the Brastel Remit app: Menu > Deposit Instructions > Yucho Card - Maximum deposit limit at a time: ¥100,000

- If you wish to deposit more than ¥100,000, you will need to make multiple deposits. 

The Brastel Remit App also contains useful tips on how to save money with the ATM fees when making multiple deposits. Open the Brastel Remit app and go to Menu > Deposit Instructions > Yucho Card > Select the place where you are going to make the deposit: 

Japan Post Bank or Family Mart > Select the type of ATM where you will make the deposit. Then press the button “TIP: SAVE MONEY!”.

10. With Internet banking or my own personal bank account how can I send money using Brastel Remit app?

Please check the instructions on the Brastel Remit app: open the app, press the menu icon (on the top left corner) >> Deposit Instructions > Bank Transfer > Japan Post Bank > select your desired deposit method (ATM or Internet Banking).

Important: don’t forget to enter your Deposit Code provided by us in the deposit instructions. The deposit code allows us to identify your deposit and automatically add the amount to your balance.

If you have a bank account at other banks, please check the instructions on the Brastel Remit app: open the app, press the menu icon (on the top left corner) >> Deposit Instructions > Bank Transfer > Other banks.

11. How can I check if my transaction was successfully done? How can I check my reference number?

You can check your transaction status and reference number from the Brastel Remit app. 

Open the app. At the HOME screen, check your “Recent Transfers” or go to MENU > Transaction history > Transfers.

If the transfer status is “SENDING”, you can already provide your recipient with the reference number. Press the button “Share transfer details” to send 

The reference number to them via email or other messaging services. Also the Reference number will be sent automatically to the email address you registered at the time of your subscription. Note that the email address must be validated to receive the notification.

12. Can I receive a transaction report for tax procedures?     

Yes, you can print or share your Remittance Statement from the app. Go to Menu > Transaction History > Print a Remittance Statement.

13. In what order should I register the name of the receiver? Should it be the same as in his/her Turkey ID?

Yes,it should be registered in the same order as in the ID: first name and surname.

14. In order to register for the Brastel Remit what kind of ID CARDS do you ask for?

For foreigners living in Japan, only the Residence Card is accepted. 

15. Is Brastel Remit refundable?

Normally we do not cancel confirmed transactions, but refunds can be made in special circumstances. To request a refund go to Menu > My Account > Refund. 

Note that you will need to pay a flat fee of ¥750.         

16. How to cancel a transaction?

Please contact Customer Service. After the procedure is complete, the money will return to your app balance. You can make a new transaction, or if you want to receive the money-back to your bank account, you can request a refund from the app. Go to Menu > My Account > Refund.
